1@+you=1€ is an initiative by th a CTIC Foundation created with the aim of the implementation of Development for Cooperation projects in the field of the Information Society, bringing Information and Communication Technologies closer to the people and organisations that do not have easy access to them, acting in favour of regional development and the fight against social inequalities.
Through this initiative, a digital solidarity fund has been created, in which over 50 public and private organisations and a community made up by over 5,000 people who participate in financing, sponsoring and supporting this initiative with the goal of developing projects to reduce the digital divide in developing countries.
The efficency of 1@+you=1€ has also been proved through the holding of the two meetings “International Meeting on ICT for Development Cooperation: Cooperation 2.0“, with more than 400 participants attending the meeting and thousands on-line. These meetings haved contributed to the creation of a discussion space and the creation of a world social conscience about the need to reduce the digital divide in an innovative way, and identify the most suitable tools.
